Cookie Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains the preference cookie and optional analytics Hocus Pocus uses on this website, how you can manage your choices, and how the interactive mirror handles camera access.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website stores in your browser. They can remember choices between visits. Similar technologies can also store or access information on your device.
What we use
We use one necessary preference cookie to remember your choices. Optional analytics starts only if you accept it. Analytics does not set additional cookies or use local or session storage. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party embeds.
| Cookie | Purpose and duration |
|---|---|
hocus_pocus_consentHocus Pocus | Remembers your Analytics choice, the policy version, and when your choice was saved and expires. It contains no unique visitor identifier. Duration: 180 days from saving. |
This cookie belongs to Hocus Pocus and is limited to the website host that sets it. It is not shared with other websites. Saving a choice with Analytics switched off does not enable analytics.
Analytics and interaction analysis (optional)
With your permission, we collect page visits, referring website domains, browser language, device and browser information, and fixed events such as picking up the wand, casting the spell, revealing the mirror, completing the crystal predictions, and following contact or social links. Query strings, URL fragments, arbitrary text, and form values are excluded. The server processes your IP address and browser information to distinguish visits and estimate location.
Collection goes through this website to our analytics server. A temporary visit token is held only in page memory; it is cleared when you withdraw consent or leave the page. Your consent cookie is not forwarded to the analytics server. Analytics is optional and does not affect access to the website.
Your choices
Choose “Accept all” to allow Analytics, or open Cookie settings to review your choice. To keep Analytics off, leave its switch off and choose “Save settings”. Analytics is off by default. The website and all its magical features work with either choice.
You can reopen Cookie settings at any time using the button on this page or on our Privacy Policy, both linked from the footer. Closing settings without saving leaves your previous choice unchanged. Switching Analytics off stops future collection, cancels pending browser requests where possible, and discards unsent interaction data. It does not erase data already received; contact us if you have questions about that data.
Your saved choice applies to this browser and device for 180 days. We show the notice again when it expires or when the policy version changes. You can also delete or block the cookie in your browser settings. If cookies are blocked, we can remember your choice only in the current tab until you reload or close it. The server requires a valid preference cookie before accepting analytics, so collection stays off when that cookie cannot be saved.
The mirror and your camera
The mirror requests camera access only after you click or tap it. Your browser asks for permission separately; accepting Analytics does not give camera permission. The mirror requests video only, not microphone access.
Your reflection stays in your browser. Hocus Pocus does not record or upload the camera feed. Closing the mirror, moving it out of view, or hiding or leaving the page stops the camera.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our cookie use changes. If we change the optional services or their purposes, we will explain the change and ask for a fresh choice before enabling them. An earlier choice does not authorize new purposes.
